The Safari
Who would've thought you'd see the day where you heard people go River Snorkeling, especially in the Saluda River! The Lower Saluda happens to be host to one of the healthiest stocks of Striped Bass in SC. Every Spring these fish migrate from Lakes Marion & Moultrie to spawn in the cool waters of the Lower Saluda River just outside of Columbia. We will snorkel a protected stretch of the river located behind Riverbanks Zoo to the confluence of the Congaree River in search of the beautiful gamefish. Not only will we see trophy sized Striper swimming around the river bottom, but we'll have the opportunity to see impressive Longnose Gar, Spotted Suckers, Bowfin, and Blue Catfish some the size of your dogs!
Itinerary
We will be meeting at the Saluda River Walk off of Candi Lane at 9am. We'll gear up in the parking lot and head down to the water. We'll put in below the rapids of the Mill Race and snorkel down to the confluence of the Congaree River.

Guests who arrive late will be left behind and unable to receive a refund.

In the unlikely event of inclement weather, we may cancel or postpone the trip the day prior to departure and will call the number you provided on your reservation to let you know.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations will only be refunded if the cancelling party’s spots are filled by new reservations. We do offer lifetime credits that can be applied to other Carolina Safaris until your balance is fulfilled. Lifetime credits apply only to customers who give 72-hour notice and don’t get their spots filled. It is up to the cancelling party to fulfill their credits. Should a safari be cancelled due to weather, hazardous conditions, or extenuating circumstances to the company all reservations will be refunded.
