It’s Spring Time and you know what that means, Bird Migration is upon us! We’re specifically targeting Shorebirds on this outing in hopes to see massive flocks of migrating Red Knots! These little shorebirds are migrating from the tip of South America all the way up to the Arctic Circle and Captain Sams Spit at Kiawah Island is one of their favorite resting spots. We’ll enter the beach at Kiawah Beachwalker Park & walk down to Captain Sams, along the way we’ll look for other migrants like Piping Plovers, Least Terns, and other shorebirds that we’re not typically used to seeing in the times we’re normally at the beach. With over 250 bird species sighted on the Kiawah Beaches, we should be in for trip filled with birds!

Itinerary
We will meet in the parking lot behind the Wells Fargo of Fresh Fields Village at 9:30am. Once we're all together, I will give us a quick brief, hand you your entrance fee to Beachwalker Park, and we will caravan down to the park (~2min away). Once we all arrive in the parking lot, we'll begin our trek to Captain Sams Spit where the Red Knot flocks gather. The walk from the parking lot to Captain Sams is about a mile. On our trek out, we will also have the opportunity to view migrating shorebirds along the way. This birdwatching tour lasts about 3 hours however if you wish to depart early, you are free to do so.

Guests who arrive late will be left behind and unable to receive a refund.

Please note: Guests must be able to walk 2 miles in warm weather conditions as that is the roundtrip length of the to Captain Sams Spit.
Cancellation Policy
We require 5 DAYS NOTICE to cancel your reservation and receive a full refund. If you cancel within the 5 day period, you will not be refunded.
